| Greetings Friends,
As Commandant for the Seattle Seafair Commodores for 2012, I welcome your friendship and support. I am humbled to be at the helm of this honored institution. I love this great city and the wonderful people that make this a fantastic place to live. There is tremendous satisfaction in bringing joy to children on a parade route, awarding scholarships to incredible young people, building community, and knowing you CAN make a difference.
Since the founding of the Commodores in 1955, Commodores have been the model of civic pride and commitment to community. Our motto, ”Commodores Care!” describes exactly what we do. This past year, Commodores have volunteered many hours to help those less fortunate in our community and have worked hard to support the Seafair Foundation and the Scholarship for Women Program. Commodores truly care for our community.
As Seafair has grown to become the premiere summer event of the region, the need for dedicated volunteers has grown also. We can do more! We must do more! As volunteers for Seafair, Commodores care! Join me this year in celebrating what makes our community so special. Join me in in giving some time and money to make a difference. Everyone can make a difference. Everyone can be part of this community.
2012 Commandant Bruce Bentley
