Dear Commodores, Friends and Guests,
Again, we embark on another year. 2010 is The Seattle Seafair Commodores 55th. another year of dreams, mile stones and projections. Our members and fans forge onward with an agenda to continue the commitment to give back to our community. We are proud to continue the expanded contributions to the Seafair Scholarship Program for Women and participation in the Northwest Festival Hosting Association.
Our 2010 program includes the continuance and follow-through of what was initiated in 2009 under the leadership of our Commandant, Ken North. We appreciate the many past commandants’ ongoing participation, guidance and challenge to expand upon the foundation that was built by those before us.
Our excellent relationship with the Seafair foundation, staff and other Seafair families will continue. The Commodores participation in additional “non Commodores” Seafair functions is planned. This rewards us with expanded visibility and excites recruitment.
Our membership in the Northwest Festival Hosting Association gives us VIP status at all other regional festivals and its members welcome our participation. In response to so many requests, we are following through on the “SS COMMODORE” a Parade Float. Donations have been secured and a Float Team will be assembled for design and construction.
An ambitious membership drive is planned. It is anticipated that our Float Project will stimulate membership expansion. Our “EGO” (Everyone Get One) will stay as we feed it with prospects. To further encourage EGO, we will continue our member’s incentive program and recognition.
We desire to increase our contribution to the Scholarship Program for Women and plan to continue adding to fundraising activities by adding a dedicated function to plan and coordinate more events and approaches.
Miss Seafair and Scholarship Committee members have already attended some of our sponsored events and we look forward to the close and cooperative relationship to continue throughout the year.
Don’t forget, Have Fun Doing Good and See It Grow!
Sincerely,
John Andor
Commandant 2010
